For this blanket, the alpaca fiber is blended and spun with a high-quality acrylic wool in order to produce a woven textile that is lightweight, very warm, and durable. The woven alpaca is hand-cut and machine sewn by experienced Andean seamstresses.
This product is made of 30% Alpaca and 70% high quality-extremely thin Acrylic. It is extremely soft and feels very nice. You can find these products sold as 100% alpaca at local handicrafts markets in Peru, some times even at EBay -sellers there most of the time do not say the alpaca percent the product have- and also in other web sites around.
It is a nice and fine product for its price but keep in mind the alpaca percentage it has. This blanket is an excellent example of what can be done with alpaca fiber and how can it be blended with other fibers.

I like this blanket, it is very soft and has very nicely crocheted handwork. I need confirmation as to the “content” and “care” on the tag! The content is posted on the website, but it is a LOT MORE USEFUL when it’s on the tag. I don’t like purchasing items that aren’t properly marked. Still a lovely blanket.

The Alpaca Blend Blanket with Hand Crocheted Scalloped Trim for Babies is just beautiful. Our other blankets are machine washable in cold and dry on low to no heat. This product says hand wash, not a viable option for a baby blanket that is about 40 by 40. I am planning to wash one on delicate and dry on low to see its’ durability.
