I’ve been crocheting with this yarn using a 4.25 hook, and mainly for the thermal stitch. I’ve also used a 3.75 when I want a tighter or more stiff result. It’s soft, pliable, and a little thinner than regular acrylic yarn. The consistency remains the same throughout, even from skein to skein. Being a novice, I find all those qualities extremely helpful.
The first color I tried was the dark gray – very nice shade but also difficult to see the stitches. I’m currently working with a lighter shade of gray which is much easier to see. I have not yet tried any of the other alpaca yarns offered so I have no comparison, but I definitely like this one enough to buy it again.
